(Ms. Ulmer and Mrs. Fries)

About our team:
This is our first year as K1 teaching partners.  Ms. Ulmer joined the Red Cedar team this year!  This is Ms. Fries' second year on the K1 team, and fifth year at RCES.  We operate as a true team.  Ms. Ulmer has the kinder friends during the day for their math, ELA, and theme blocks.  Ms. Fries has the first graders during those same times.  Our homeroom classes are a blend of the kinders and first graders.  Why multiage?  It allows kinder friends who are new to Red Cedar, or new to our classrooms, to have first grade buddies and role models to help them in class.  If you would like more information about multiage classrooms, please let us know!

About Ms. Ulmer:

Hi! My name is Lori Ulmer. I am from the great state of Delaware originally, but I now call Bluffton, South Carolina my home. And, what a sweet home it is! I attended college at the University of Delaware and went to graduate school at George Mason University in Virginia where I earned my masters in curriculum and instruction. I have been working in education for 14 years.

I believe that each and every child can succeed.  One of my main goals each year is to instill a love of learning in all students. This belief and goal are evident on a daily basis in my classroom!

About Mrs. Fries:

My name is Liza Fries and I teach Kindergarten and First Grade. I grew up in Blythewood, South Carolina. I attended Clemson University where I received a degree in Early Childhood Education. I continued my education at the University of South Carolina where I earned my M.Ed. I am National Board certified, and highly qualified in Early Childhood. I have high expectations for all of my students. I am here to support and encourage them to reach their goals. Every day is an opportunity for them to learn something new. I can’t wait to see what amazing things we will accomplish together this year!
