Hello My Name Is...
Ms. Barr

I am excited to be in my tenth year teaching for the Beaufort County School District and ninth at Red Cedar. I teach 4th grade this year with a new group of students and love looping to 5th grade with them.
I have pursued teaching since I was in Elementary school. I come from a family of teachers. My mom taught preschool and my aunt is a professor of education at a college in my hometown. I earned an undergrad degree in Middle Grades Education (4-8) with a concentration in Language Arts and Social Studies. I have also completed an endorsement to teach Gifted and Talented students and an Elementary Add-on to teach Elementary School in South Carolina.
My husband and I l moved to Beaufort in 2008. Since then, we’ve adopted three children all of which are teenagers. Our two youngest will be in High School this year. We also have 2 dogs, Champ and Polly.
Before moving to South Carolina, we lived in Texas and North Carolina. My first teaching job was outside of Charlotte, NC, where I taught Middle School Language Arts and Social Studies. We then moved to Texas where I taught 4th grade for four years. I am originally from Georgia, where my family still lives.
